Fire Service has launched an operation to investigate the fire safety system of the multi-storied building in Chittagong. The notice was given to the owner of the building. The residents of the city welcomed the initiative.
Besides, a mobile court has fined several hotels in Cox's Bazar due to a fire safety system in the second day. Two people were arrested at the time.
The fire service members campaign started in Kazir Deuri, Chittagong in the morning on Tuesday (April 2nd). The purpose is to investigate whether there are fire safety measures in multi-storied buildings.
As divided into 8 groups, similar observations were conducted in different residential and commercial areas of the city including Chandanpura and GES. The buildings which are more risky and do not have fire safety systems, are initially given time to notice those building owners. Fire Service officials said they will take legal action against the owners if they disobey orders. Newton Das, senior station officer of Chittagong Fire Service, said, "I am not sure if the way to get out of the emergency is blocked."। We also inform the senior authority about the state of the fire prevention system. They will take action.
